Senior Fullstack Developer (PHP/Laravel)

Channext is a fast-growing channel SaaS scale-up based in Utrecht. Our platform is trusted by some of the largest technology companies in the world, including Acronis, HP, and Microsoft. We help vendors and their partners collaborate more effectively by automating marketing, streamlining content distribution, and improving performance insights.

As we continue to scale the platform and grow our customer base, we are expanding our engineering team. We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join one of our product pods: a cross-functional team responsible for ensuring that partners experience long-term success with Channext.

In the pod you’ll be working in, the goals is to make partners love Channext. You will be working with the team towards three key outcomes:

• Best-in-class partner content available in the market

• End-to-end revenue & pipeline generation and tracking for partners with minimal time or expertise required

• Scalable content creation for vendors (and eventually partners’ own content)

Our way of working requires developers to play a central role in defining solutions, deeply understanding customer problems, and driving quality, scalability, and maintainability across the codebase. You will work closely with a Product Manager, Designer, and other engineers to build solutions that directly impact our company-wide goals.

About the role

As a Senior Fullstack Developer, you will take ownership of both backend and frontend initiatives that directly influence how partners use and stay engaged with the Channext platform. You will be expected to contribute to architectural discussions, lead technical decision-making for your pod, and help us evolve the platform towards higher quality and performance.

Your work will touch areas such as social posting reliability and scalability, content personalization and optimization (driven by AI), marketing campaign creation flows and data and analytics. You will work with older parts of the system as well as newer components, so the ability to assess, refactor, and modernize legacy code in a pragmatic, scalable way is important.

With our ambition to grow from 2500 active partnerships to 10,000 in the next two years, we are investing heavily in performance, reliability, and long-term architecture. This role is central to that next chapter.

What you will be working on

Designing, building, and improving backend services using PHP and Laravel with a strong focus on quality, maintainability, and performance.

• Developing and enhancing frontend functionality using JavaScript and Vue/Nuxt, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.

• Working with the product pod to understand customer needs, exploring problems, and defining solutions collaboratively with product and design.

• Working with event-driven architecture using RabbitMQ, ensuring reliable and scalable asynchronous flows.

• Maintaining and refactoring legacy code where necessary, making thoughtful trade-offs between rewriting and improving in place.

• Building well-tested features using Pest and contributing to raising engineering quality standards.

• Contributing to the evolution of our data and analytics capabilities, including MySQL optimizations and ElasticSearch queries.

• Collaborating with our AI and data teams to implement smarter automation and insights.

• Participating in technical discovery, architectural discussions, and long-term platform planning within the pod.

About you

• You have strong experience (5+ years) with PHP and Laravel, and you know how to build systems that scale.

• You have solid JavaScript experience and are comfortable working with Vue or Nuxt.

• You understand how to work in and improve a mature codebase, including dealing with legacy systems and tech debt.

• You have a quality-first mindset: testing, maintainability, and clarity are part of your default approach.

• You are comfortable participating in and leading technical discussions within your team.

• You think beyond code. You want to understand user behavior, customer problems, and how your work contributes to pod and company goals.

• You have experience working with relational databases and understand the impact of queries, indexing, and schema evolution.

• You enjoy working with event-driven patterns and asynchronous processing.

• You care about the success of the people who use the product and take pride in building solutions that genuinely help them.

• You are proactive, curious, and comfortable taking ownership of challenges from problem exploration through to delivery.
